Turning frame gen back on with the DLSS Transformer 2 model and HelixSR upscaling pushes it back to 60fps on SteamOS, with a little extra input latency. Cyberpunk 2077 v2.5 on the Steam Deck: has it actually improved, or do we just have better plugins to make it run? I put the latest update through its paces with DLSS, HelixSR upscaling, Mako frame generation and our new MultiFrameGen app. Decky Multi-Framgen: https://github.com/MWGIH/DeckyMultiFrameGen Using the Steam Deck graphics preset (so you can compare directly with our previous coverage), I switch to the DLSS Transformer 2 model with DLSS Super Resolution on Balanced, nudge up DLSS sharpness and turn off depth of field, lens flare and motion blur. Then we test frame generation off vs on in Dogtown, the toughest performance area in the game, look at how much Mako frame gen helps when the base frame rate drops into the 20s, and check input latency in combat. Finally, I show the MultiFrameGen app, which manages OptiScaler, HelixSR and Mako frame gen combinations in one place on SteamOS. Steam Frame streaming just got a big upgrade in the latest SteamVR update. Valve's new SteamVR update brings a batch of Steam Link streaming fixes for the Steam Frame: it fixes the ~300ms gaps in frame delivery during packet loss, greyed-out colours on certain AMD GPUs, video corruption, checkerboarding and stuck streams. It also improves automatic bitrate selection and exposes eye openness data when streaming from Steam Frame. If wireless PC VR streaming has been giving you trouble, this update is worth grabbing.
